1. Independent contractor status
You are an independent service provider. There is no employment, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship between you and Find A Hand. You decide which jobs to apply for, which jobs to accept, when to work, and how you carry out the work.
2. No employment relationship
Find A Hand does not control how, when or where you perform jobs. We do not provide tools, equipment, training, sick pay, holiday pay, pensions or any other employee benefit. You are not entitled to any rights that arise under UK employment law as a result of using Find A Hand.
3. Tax responsibilities
You are solely responsible for declaring all earnings received through Find A Hand to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and for paying any income tax, National Insurance and (if applicable) VAT that you owe. Find A Hand does not deduct tax on your behalf. If you are unsure, speak to an accountant or visit gov.uk/working-for-yourself.
4. Insurance responsibilities
You are responsible for holding any insurance appropriate to the work you carry out — typically public liability insurance, and where relevant tools, employer's liability or motor insurance for business use. Verified Insurance badges are not a substitute for your own due diligence; you must keep cover in place for the duration of every job.
5. Qualification responsibilities
You will only accept jobs you are competent and (where required by law) qualified to carry out. Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer; certain electrical work must be carried out by a Part P competent person; asbestos, working at height and other regulated activities have their own legal requirements. If a job is outside your competence, decline it.
6. Customer interaction expectations
You agree to communicate promptly and respectfully, turn up on time, give honest quotes, complete agreed work to a reasonable standard, and resolve issues professionally. Sharing payment links or asking for bank details inside Find A Hand chat is prohibited — agree payment in person after the job is done.
7. Grounds for account suspension
We may suspend or terminate your Helper account if you breach this agreement, our Community Guidelines or the Terms & Conditions, if you receive repeated serious complaints, if there is evidence of fraud or unsafe practice, or if a regulator or court requires us to act.
8. Acceptance
When you activate your Helper profile we record your acceptance of this agreement — including the date, time and IP address — for compliance purposes. You can withdraw by deactivating your Helper profile from your account settings at any time.
