The full step-by-step guide
Whether you need a job done or you want to earn extra income helping locals — here's exactly how it all works, from start to finish.
1. Post your job — free, in under a minute
Tap Post a job, pick a category (Cleaning, Gardening, Handyman, Dog walking, etc.), add a short title, a description, your budget, area and up to 8 photos. Add an estimated time and mark it Urgent if you need help within 24 hours.
2. Get applications from local helpers
Your advert appears on Browse jobs for nearby helpers straight away. They apply with a short message so you can quickly see who's a good fit. You'll get a notification for every application.
3. Chat and pick your helper
Message applicants from the job page or your inbox — you can view their profile, reviews and completed jobs before deciding. When you're happy, hit Assign worker on the applicant you want.
4. Confirm a date and time together
Once assigned, propose a start date and time in chat. Your helper confirms it back — both sides must tap Confirm booking, and the vibrant green button will turn the job into a scheduled booking.
5. Pay directly — no fees, no middle men
Find A Hand never takes a cut and never handles the money. You agree the price up front and pay your helper directly (cash, bank transfer, or however suits you both) when the work is done.
6. Mark the job complete
When the work is finished, tap Mark as complete in chat. Your helper also confirms and the job moves into your completed list. If plans change, you can cancel up to 24 hours before the scheduled start.
7. Leave a review
Both sides get to rate each other — honest reviews are what makes the community trustworthy and helps great helpers get more work.

'Worker assigned' banner
The poster has picked a helper but the booking isn't fully confirmed yet. You can still apply as a back-up until both sides confirm a date.
Urgent tag
The poster needs help within 24 hours. These jobs are usually filled fast — reply quickly.
Local first
Everything runs on distance from your set area. Change your radius any time in the location pill.
Favourites
Save jobs with the heart icon and revisit them from your Favourites tab.
No fees ever
Find A Hand doesn't take a cut. Posters and workers agree the price and pay each other directly.
ID verified
Helpers with the ID verified badge have confirmed their identity. Look for it on Meet helpers and job applications.
