Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by Find A Hand to explain how we handle your personal information. Last updated: 23 June 2026.

Who we are

Find A Hand operates a community marketplace for everyday jobs in the UK. We are the data controller for personal information collected through the service.

What we collect

  • Account details such as name, email, phone and profile photo.
  • Location information you provide (postcode, town, approximate coordinates).
  • Job content — titles, descriptions, photos, messages and reviews you submit.
  • Membership and payment metadata returned by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Limited technical data such as device, browser and IP address.

How we use it

  • To run the marketplace — match jobs, deliver messages, surface reviews and ratings.
  • To keep the service safe, including fraud prevention and enforcing our terms.
  • To process worker memberships and send transactional emails.
  • To improve features and fix bugs.

Sharing

We share data with trusted service providers who help us run the app (hosting, database, authentication, payments, email). They process personal data on our instructions. We do not sell your personal information.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain processing, or ask for a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to the ICO. To make a request, get in touch via the contact page.

Retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise personal data, except where we are required to keep records (for example for tax or fraud-prevention purposes).

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies and local-storage entries to keep you signed in, remember your search area and run the service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
